Emma Mabery's Book Review for Mrs. Williamson

Book Review-Mrs. Williamson's Fourth Grade Class

Title:  The Boxcar Children
Author:  Gertrude Chandler Warner
Genre: Fiction/Mystery

Characters: 
  • Main:  Jessie, Henry, Benny, and Violet
  • Other:  James Henry Alden, Mrs. Moore, Dr. Moore, and Watch (dog)
Setting:  The story takes place in a boxcar and Dr. Moore's house.

Plot:  The story is about four kids.  The four kids parents died so they ran away to a boxcar.  They lived in a boxcar for a long time and had many adventures.

Problem or Conflict:  There are a couple of problems in this story.  The first one is that there are four kids that are poor.  The second problem is that they are trying to stay together on their own.  The last problem is they believe that their grandfather is mean. 

Resolution:  The Resolution is that the grandpa was actually he nice so he meet the kids and thought they were wonderful then the kids meet him and they thought he was great.  So the four kids lived grandpa because he was rich. 

This story remind me of:  The story reminds me of when sometimes my daddy gives food to the homeless and makes them happy
